London Marathon

There is really a wall at mile 20 like they say. Today I hit this was.

By mile 20 I was a sub 4h pace but suddently I felt that all my glicogen was gone and my body started to feel very heavy and felt like I was pushing a wagon. Still run for the last 6 miles but at a slower pace.

Finished in 4h15m

Update

Sorry to my followers but I've not been posting much. Basically after the Singapore Ironman 70.3 I got sick due to a virus that I got there and for that reason I didn't trained properly for two weeks. Now Im back to training again. Next race is the London marathon on April 25th and I'm as ready as I can be.

i will let you know.

It is done. Finished the Singapore Ironman 70.3 in 6h12m. This is a higher time time that I've aimed for but the conditions were very hard. Very high temperature and humidity made the run very slow. My time on the run was 30 minutes than my normal time for a half marathon.
My position was 108th out of 296 on my age group and 459th out of 1132 on the overall classification.
In the end I think it was a good result and if it wasn't for the very hard run, it was everything I had antecipated. A easy swim (not many kicks from others) and paced bike section.
There is a lot of space for improvement in all disciplines, to include the transitions.
Austria can be better.

Almost...

Only 12 hours to the start of the Singapore Ironman 70.3. My start will be at 7.25 am.
Today it rained a lot and I chose not to bike since the road had a lot of water. Left the bike in transition in the morning and then did a slow short run of 5Km.
Spent the afternoon resting and had a very nice massage.
Here on the left is Joao Pedro with Craig Alexander, Ironman World Champion and defending champion in Sinagpore.

Two days to go.

This morning I've done the recognition of the swim course. I've completed one lap of the course in 19 minutes. Afterwards I've met Greg Alexander, two times Ironman world champion.
Now is rest and wait, Still have to put the bike in the transition tomorrow.

Already in Singapore

Arrived in Singapore today at 8 am (local time) and assembled the bike in the morning. Before noon I went for a 60 Km ride on the road where the run will happen. I couldn't ride on the bike loop since part is highway and the other part crosses downtown which is pretty busy. I've seen the transitions and swim location. Amazing light green water.

This was my last long training and this week I will rest in order to be ready for the race next Sunday.

Only two weeks to go until Ironman 70.3 Singapore. My training has been building up and this alone I've trained over 15 hours, including 8,3Km swimming, 191 km biking and 42Km running. This weekend I've done a duathlon and a swimming session on Saturday and 90Km biking and 6Km run on Sunday. This coming week I still have some hard training to do before the final weeked of tappering. Need also to start to pack the bike and all the other 100 itens needed for this race since we depart next Saturday. We will arrive in Singapore one week before the race.

I'm I ready? More that yesterday and less than tomorow. My forecast is that the swim and bike will go rather easy but on the run I will for sure suffer. Depending on the temperature and humidity, I will suffer a lot. At least I know that so I will have no surprises.

Today I rode my new road bike for the first time. Incredible bike and very light, only 6,6Kg with pedals.

Still requires some setup.

My training for singapore continues intense and will finish February with 50 hour of training. On Saturday 6th I will do a Duathlon, 4Km run, 20Km mountain bike, 4Km run with my coach and the rest of his team.

Too cold and snowing today...

Definitely today was not a day to train outside. Still run 8Km and biked 65Km in my garage.
